Discover the inspiring journey of Anderson Hunt (A.H.) Brown, who, against all odds, transitioned from the legacy of slavery to becoming a monumental figure in real estate.

Born in 1880 in Dunbar, West VA, A.H. Brown purchased and developed residential and commercial properties and leased office space. He created one of the earliest Black-owned shared workspaces for entrepreneurs. He also built affordable housing. Brown strongly believed in equal rights and brought to court the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education of Charleston Independent School District (1928), which desegregated public schools.
